Adding a matte transition (also known as a luma wipe or luma matte transition) in OBS and Streamlabs can enhance the professional quality of your streams. Matte transitions use a grayscale video file where the luminance (brightness) controls the transition effect. Here’s how to add a matte transition in both OBS and Streamlabs:

Add a New Transition:
- Upload Video Files: Navigate to the downloaded folder ( Use Webm Transition for streaming )
- Choose a transition with or without sound

Configure the Transition:
- Audio Transition Point: Time
- Set Transition point: 0
- Matt Layout: Enable “Use a Track Matte”
- Matte layout type: Same file, side-by-side ( stinger on the left, track matte on the right )
- Audio Monitoring: Monitor Only (mute output )
- Audio Fade Style: Fade out to the transition point then fade in

Access the Scene Transitions Menu:
- In newly opened window click on ” Add transition”
- Or edit existing one if you want
