Adding and Configuring Transitions in OBS Studio
Open OBS Studio:
- Launch OBS Studio on your computer.
Go to Scene Transitions:
- In the main window, look for the “Scene Transitions” section located at the bottom right.
Choose a Transition:
- Click on the drop-down menu to select a transition type “Stinger.”
- You can also click “+” to add a new transition from the list.
Set the Transition:
- Name your transition
- Select “Stinger” as the type if it’s not selected previously
- Upload transition – choose with or without a sound
- Transition Type set as Time
- Set Transition point to → 2000
- Audio Monitoring → Monitor only ( mute output )
- Audio Fade Style → Fade out to the transition point then fade in
- File in output→ Stretch to output
- Test transition before going live to make sure everything is smooth.
Access the Scene Transitions Menu:
- In newly opened window click on ” Add transition”
- Or edit existing one if you want
Access the Scene Transitions Menu:

- Or edit the existing one if you want
- From the dropdown Type select Stinger and click “Done”
Add a New Transition:
- Upload Video Files: Navigate to the downloaded folder ( Use Webm Transition for streaming )
- Choose a transition with or without sound
Configure the Transition:
- Transition Point Type: Time
- Set Transition point: 2000
- Audio Monitoring: Monitor Only (mute output )
- Audio Fade Style: Fade out to the transition point then fade in
Set the Default Transition:
- Select your newly added transition from the list to set it as the default transition for your scenes.
Apply and Test:
- Switch between your scenes to test the transition. Make sure it performs as expected.
